2024 Judo Dushanbe

2024 Judo Dushanbe It had been over a month since I wrote about a judo event. The last one I tried to watch was the one in Turkey which was taking place during Good Friday. I was upset because I didn't see the point in an event on that date, but I was watching anyway. When the most important fight for me was about to air, which was Abe Sama, the broadcast went off the air and when it came back on, the fight had already ended. I was very angry about that. Why go back live? Come back from where you fell! It ended up that I didn't watch anything else. I only came back in May. In a slightly sad way. The event took place on May 3, 4 and 5 in Tajikistan. I was planning to watch it later because I had a federal contest to participate in on May 5th and all my attention was on that. But a huge amount of rain fell in Rio Grande do Sul and the competition that was going to be held in all states had to be postponed. Even though I am very far from Rio Grande do Sul, the tragedy affect...

2024 Judo Tibilisi

From March 22nd to 24th, another international judo event took place in Tbilisi, Georgia. The home team won four gold medals and Brazil won two bronze medals. But in the end it was the judo event that caught my least attention this year. With the exception of one episode that I will tell at the end of the text. Since I don't have much to say about the event, I'm going to take the opportunity to write about transmissions, which is a pertinent and related subject. I watch these events on YouTube on the Brazilian Olympic Committee channel, Time Brasil. The same images but with a different transmission are also available on the CazéTV channel. This happens because the two channels shared the costs of purchasing broadcasting rights. I have no idea about the percentages, I don't know if they both pay the same, or if one pays more. But regardless of that, I have a lot to thank Cazé, owner of Cazé TV, because he is not from judo. He is a conten...

Easter 2024

Happy Easter! The purpose of this text and this humble drawing is to wish happy Easter to the people I care about. To do this, I wanted to start by telling you something that happened a few weeks ago involving one of the video games I watch, Counter Strike. Counter Strike is a great work of art. From time to time, the game's owner, Valve, holds drawing contests. The designs that win these contests are added to the game and Valve pays the artists for their royalties. It turns out that copyrights exist to protect legitimate authors, they do not protect drawings made by artificial intelligence, nor drawings that have already entered the public domain, nor do they protect people who sell other people's drawings saying they are theirs. Valve takes care to avoid drawings produced with artificial intelligence or stolen drawings, known as plagiarism. With this it specialized in finding cheaters. The Counter Strike world championship is taking pl...
